Guess we all got the news that Bev Perdue will not be seeking re-election. Comes really as no surprise given her failed record and pending campaign scandal of her top campaign chiefs. And the day after, her second in charge Walter Dalton has not only declared his intention to run for governor, but also has stated he supports an $800 million tax increase. Sure does sound familiar doesn’t it?!?! The NC Democratic Party is in scramble mode right now, but we will not take that for granted. Use that message to encourage folks to join the most robust, organized and ready to work state party in the nation. -Robin Communications Big story of course was Bev Perdue’s announcement not to seek re-election. Shadowed by that was Dem. Congressman Brad Miller’s announcement that he will not run again for Congress. Please look for a separate email each week from Rob Lockwood, our Communications Director. If you do not receive his emails, let him know to add you by emailing him at rlockwood@ncgop.org. On the social media front our reach continues to grow. In this past week we have posted 24 tweets and 13 Facebook posts, both which have garnered hundreds of shares. On Thursday alone we gained over 100 new fans on Facebook and we are quickly approaching 5,000 followers on Twitter. Political/Grassroots Again this week we are preparing for precinct meetings and county conventions. UPDATE: Thanks to the RNC, we have obtained a state wide database of 65,000 new Republican and Unaffiliated voters to our state, also includes these folks who have moved around in our state who have not yet registered at their new address. District and county chairs will receive more information on this very soon. Victory County chairs and vice chairs should have received our survey. Please fill out the information and return as soon as possible to Kim Canady at canady@ncgop.org. We want to hear from you on what you liked best about past programs, what concerns you have, and a host of other information that will help in our planning.   Finance and Accounting Checks are coming in daily, state and federal reports are complete and have been submitted.
